I’ve finally arrived at the steelhead promise land, the Mecca, Vahalla & Shangri-La for steelheaders the world over. I’ve been dreaming of fishing the Skeena & its tribs ever since I started steelhead fishing some 10 years ago. Now that I’m finally here, I’ve been seriously humbled after 3 skunks in a row on the river. It just reminds me that steelhead fishing is never easy, even here. At least somebody is getting monster fish, which gives me renewed faith to keep my fly in the water. After the snow melts and we can drive again, hopefully my luck will change.
